SAVING LIVES IN REAL-WORLD COMBAT SITUATIONS
SimX’s partnership with the US Air Force’s 31st Medical Group (MDG) has trained medics to save lives in the toughest environments.
Problem
Military medics require frequent, high-intensity training to maintain proficiency, but traditional methods are resource-intensive and difficult to scale. Many training programs struggle to provide repeated hands-on practice in realistic environments.
Solution
SimX VR was integrated into the 31st MDG’s training programs, allowing medics to run through immersive trauma scenarios that reinforce the MARCH/PAWS algorithm. The wireless, multiplayer system enables participants to train repetitively in austere environments before transitioning to high-fidelity manikin evaluations. The portability of SimX also allows training to be conducted on-site, making it accessible for service members wherever they are stationed.
Outcome
SimX has improved confidence, skill retention, and training efficiency for the 31st MDG, enabling medics to execute life-saving procedures with greater accuracy. The system has also impressed allied partners and expanded accessibility to critical care training across the Air Force, ensuring medics are prepared to save lives in real-world combat and emergency scenarios.
